PostSubject: Connecting of others [SOLVED!]   Mon Aug 22, 2016 4:54 pm

First topic message reminder :

Hello. First of all, I want to apologize because of my very bad English, and because of my even worse question..

I 'built solution', I encrypted files, I made my hosting, I can connect and play.
But when I send 'client' folder to friend for test, he can't connect..

Well, I read other topics about this problem, and only thing I found was 'port forward'..
Ehm, what? I already did all this:

If you didnt have it there, put it.
Try typing your no-ip address into the browser, does menu of your router show up?

I had it there.
And no-ip in browser works just fine.

Edit:..Meh. I'll try it all again, but.. I don't think I've messed up anything..

Hmmm..

In GameConfig.h, line 'MAIN_SERVER_IP' should be no-ip adress, right?
'SERVER_PASSWORD' can be anything..
In no-ip 'Hostname's' IP should be my IPv4 adress.
In Firewall should be 4 rules, one for each port (40000-TCP, 40000-UDP, 40010-TCP, 40010-UDP).
In router should be 4 ports again (40000-TCP, 40000-UDP, 40010-TCP, 40010-UDP).
When connecting in-game, no-ip DUC + loginserver.exe + gameserver.exe should be running.

Where's mistake..?

Check that your ip in router in ports settings is equal to ip of your computer in local network (in the ipconfig)

So if you can connect there's two problems I can see as the issue:
1. You portforwarded wrong
2. something could be blocking the ports
Did you triple check the firewall? Review over the tutorial from beginning to end? Check to be sure you have all 3 check marks on the No-Ip DUC and to be sure there's no localip. Check your No-Ip to be sure the IP is correct, and do you have a screenshot of the router of the ports?

Firewall is OK. I even tried to turn it off overall but nothing has changed..
Screenshot of ports already been here:
Only thing I changed was IP adress, because I found out this one was wrong.

Eh.. It's not normal that my IPv4 in command line was 10.0.0.3, second time I tried it was 10.0.0.2 and now it's 10.0.0.1
That's weird ._.

Edit: Always when i hit 'Refresh Now' button on noip DUC, IP adress of my 'Hostname' changes from IPv4 to routers IP...

- Did you open the ports in your firewall, inbound rules?
- Have you tried using the ipv4 address, and then tried connecting?
- Make sure you opened login server first and then the game server?

If the ipv4 address keeps changing you need to make your ip address static by using:
http://portforward.com/help/portcheck.htm

Its a download to make sure your ports are correctly forwarded
You can use it to make your address static so it wont change
It is free, click trial when you open it.

Ok, software used.
New -static- ipv4 made.
New -static- ipv4 in ports + noip used.
Software said that ports are open.
No-ip DUC is running.
Opening loginserver, then gameserver.
Trying to log in...

Nothing changed.

Reinstalling windows won't definitely help) You can give also permissions in your firewall to both loginserver and gameserver, and also disable any other firewalls than can be with your antivirus software.

Give someone else your no-ip address so that they can type it into browser. If they see menu of your router - than there's something we missed trying to set up your server. If router menu doesn't show up, that means you cannot host at all.

I don't have any antivirus (I know, really smart..) and it don't work even if I entirely turn whole Firewall off.

Well, okay, I'll try... But isn't it little bit a nonsense?
How can someone on the other side of country only with no-ip access to my router settings?

Only if they can gain access to your router by that address, you can host server.

If your router is connected directly to the internet, anybody can load it's menu, and anybody can connect to specific ports, which router will forward to your computer. If there is a gate between router and internet, people from "outside" cannot gain access neither to web menu of the router, nor your server ports.
Maybe your router can have some security settings that block access from the "outside" internet, try checking this...

If you've tried everything. Then you may not be able to host. My friend can't even access her router via browser. Therefor, she cannot host. If you want my Skype so maybe I could help you in deeper information and not at school. Then, I could run you through how I got my friends server to host on my computer.

Also, did you search up a tutorial to see how to portforward(I know you portforwarded already) but it can help you decide if your able to host. If nothing shows up then you probably can't. When I was trying to figure hosting, I viewed a tutorial for my router to help me. Then just continued from there. I recommend Reviewing the tutorial and be sure you didn't forget anything. As Nakti said, Your router may be Gated or Blocked from other people. Look up some router tutorials and see if yours is able to Port Forward.

then you can Portforward. But question. on the firewall is your ports and loginserver and Gameserver on Private? Not sure if this could help but make sure it's not on private. That's the only thing I can think of At the moment ok so you can follow this list and recheck your work. When I was first learning to host. I remember having issues... Like no one could connect, so I kind of messed with the No-Ip till it clicked in. Look over the following:
-Your router is Portforwarded correctly
-Your firewall is correctly done and Nothing listed as Private
-You have checked through your securities to be sure nothing is blocking.
-You have looked for any other source for any Anti-Virus or any of the sort.
-etc
I know I had trouble getting the server on, My routers different from yours but after playing around with things I fixed whatever the problem was. So I totally understand the trouble your going through. I know you probably did all the stuff on the list but it's always good to look over everything for mistakes. People cannot access because you've done something incorrectly. You could try turning off the firewall. Or, try port forwarding just your IP. I know it's risky. My friend had issues with No-IP and after she set her IP in the compile it worked. You could try that to see if you've done everything else correct. Then, if it works then it was something wrong with No-IP that you did wrong and you can fix it.
